About Leading

Leading walks for the club is a very rewarding experience, although the first couple of times might be a bit nerve racking, other leaders are always willing to lend a hand and offer a bit of friendly advice should you need it.

Leading a walk involves good navigational skills, some organizational skills and a good sense of humour.

It is a requirement to complete a recce of your intended route a few weeks before the actual walk to mitigate the need to do too much navigation on the day and to ascertain possible hazards and risks to walkers on the route. The guidance in the leader's handbook (See under For Leaders->Leader Documents) should provide all the information you need to organize the walk, leaving you to enjoy it on the day.

Thank you for leading walks for the Club. Without members willing to lead, we would not have a Walk Programme.
